As summer begins here in the northern hemisphere, I thought I’d share a few late spring photos of nature that I found while walking.
The top and bottom left images were taken at Acadia Gardens, which is, as you might know, one of my favourite local places to take a short stroll. Everything was green when I was there, and, as you can see, the flowers have started to bloom. I’m looking forward to seeing how the garden beds change as the summer season unfolds.
The upper right and lower center pictures were taken at a new to me trail in Burnside called Frenchman Lake Trail. It is perhaps a shorter trail than Acadia Gardens. My husband and I took two trips around it before we felt like we had walked enough to say we had walked though nowhere near enough for my husband to think it had been a thorough walk. LOL
(I’m still recovering from an illness so for me it was good.)
This trail is located in a business park and has a wooded area and a lovely dock area where, as you can see from this image, you can look out over the lake.
The picture in the lower right corner of the header image is of a lady slipper that I saw while walking the trail near First Lake in Lower Sackville. (We also saw some lady slippers along the trail at Frenchman Lake.)
Nature is such a bright and cheerful collage of colour at this time of year in Nova Scotia! God sure knows how to decorate!
“Are you ready?” Lacey asked.
A camera clicked. “Ready,” Brandon answered before stepping outside and drawing a deep breath.
He had been inside a building – a shack really – for maybe five minutes, and yet, he looked as if he had been missing the outdoors.
Me, too, Brandon. Me, too. I’m so glad that warmer weather is here so I can get off the treadmill and outside for my walks. 🙂
