Just like in the final scene in Don’t Tell Mom, my hubby and I got up on Thanksgiving prepared to go pick apples at an orchard we had been to before. Well, that didn’t happen. We drove past and saw the lines and the fact that even the overflow parking was overflowing, and decided we would try to find something else to do.
So, while we took a driving tour of the area, I opened my phone and checked for places to walk. We settled on finding the Wolfville Watershed Nature Preserve, which is not in Wolfville at all but is just outside of it, up on what I think is called South Mountain.
We had no map of the trails with us, so we just followed another group of hikers down to the lake and followed their instructions on how the trail looped back to the entrance or could be taken around the lake. We looped back to the parking lot.
As we left, my hubby and I both agreed that we’d have to make a return visit to explore more of the trails. (And now, I have a map to help with that. 🙂 )
Pictured above, from left to right:

- A firepit and seating area on the shore of the lake (The lake is just behind those trees that my husband is walking towards.)
- The lake, which on the map is called Mud Dam
