A Library Sale and an Author Update

Where has April gone? Wow, has it been busy and fast moving! There’s been a lot going on in my personal life, but before I give you a short update on that, let me tell you about a library sale that’s going on until the end of the month.

Overdrive, an eBook library catalogue and the originator of the Libby app, is having a Christian book sale this month. I submitted my Hatfield Falls books (all of them) to the promotion at a 50% discount. So, this is a GREAT month to request new Christian fiction titles – like the Hatfield Falls series – be added to your library’s eBook collection.

And remember that Amazon made a change a few months ago that allows Kindle Unlimited authors to add their books to library catalogues. I don’t know if any of those authors are part of this sale, but it’d be worth a shot.

Sales to libraries pays authors while making our work accessible to a great number of library patrons.

Now that I’ve told you about that, let me share a few personal updates.

First… I’ve crossed a meaningful line in my recovery from this post viral thing. I’ve been released from physiotherapy. My therapist feels I am ready to tackle moving forward on my own with the skills she has taught me. Of course, I can go back if I need to or have questions, but I don’t HAVE to.

Mentally, hearing her confidence in my progress and abilities has probably been a greater boon to recovery even than the skills I’ve learned. Or at least, it’s on par with them. So much of this is a mental battle. That verse about taking thoughts captive is not just a nice thing to do but a daily necessity for me as I work towards my new normal life.

Second… My exercise regime has changed somewhat because of being released from physio. I still have my list of exercises that my therapist gave me, but at present, I’m focusing on increasing my steps per week. And in the process, I am also increasing my Uber Eats delivery times.

That way, I can earn some money (which is greatly needed) while making improvements to what my body can handle. I’m doing that by accepting many more shop and deliver jobs since each of those means a walk around a store – and at a rather rapid pace because time is money when you’re doing a “paid by the job” sort of job.

It’s also taxing my brain more, which has resulted in lower outputs in my writing life and less brain space to read books during my down time. (My current work in progress if for my other pen name, Leenie Brown.)

But it will be worth it.

I’ve even started adding a weekend walk in nature to my routine. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to go for weekend walks.

Below are a couple of pictures from this past weekend’s walk. I found the puddle and rocks under the roots of this tree interesting. It kind of looks like it would be a great setting for a fairy/fantasy world story.

Eventually, (probably in May) I will start adding in that list of physio exercises again (very gradually).

Other than that, there’s been the normal things of life, like taxes and mortgage renewal documents to add to the busyness of life.

It’s been good, but wow, has it been busy!

The next thing to add to our busy-but-good life will be to try out some gardening. My husband is hoping to start a garden this year. I hope to help him, but honestly, my green thumb has been non-existent thus far in my life. So hopefully my help will actually be helpful. LOL

That’s it from me for this month. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

PS. This month’s book to keep when you become a paid Patreon member is Don’t Tell My Best Friend I Love Her. I had the title of the book wrong in the post that I made about it on Patreon. I have fixed that now. 🙂
